June 7, 2009 -- Tate participated in baby dedication at church today. Mom and Dad as well as family had the privelage of expressing our appreciation to God for blessing us with our child/grandchild. We also presented Tate before God and the congregation asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out our responsibilities.

Mom and Dad understand that they are commanded as parents to love God and if they truly wish for Tate to one day love and follow God, our lives must be an example for him to follow. This obviously being our greatest responsibility as parents. It was wonderful to have family and friends there to witness and also understand that they also serve as examples in Tate's life. Tate was dedicated with Trayton Hook who is the son of Mom's childhood friend, Sarah.

We selected a bible verse to honor Tate's dedication. It was Mark 12:30 "...the greatest commandment...to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength..." Before Tate was born Mom and Dad would pray everyday (without fail) that our child would love the Lord. We felt this was the best foundation he could have. We love him so much and are so blessed to have him in our lives!
