'I don't want my children to be happy'

My friend shared this on Facebook last week and it stuck with me all weekend. I thought you might enjoy it too. The premise is that our goal as parents is not our childrens' happiness but to teach them the sustaining happiness that comes from God and being content.

So, honeybear (she said sugarbear but I call Tate honeybear), Tate, I pray that we can teach you the truly important life lessions of being content/grateful and wanting to please your heavenly father more than ANYTHING.

We love you so much more than making you happy.
