First Airplane & Beach Experience

March 28, 2009 -- We went to Mission, Texas (10 min. from the Mexico border and about an hr from South Padre Island) to visit Tate's Great grandparents. If every trip goes like this one, we will definitely be traveling more - he was the BEST boy.

He sat on Mommy's lap the whole plane ride down to Texas and barely made a peep. We had three stops before our final destination and he acted like he was born to travel. The weather was 95 degrees and sunny so we immediately broke out the shorts. We decided to take it easy our second day there and just went to the pool and rested. The third day we headed to the beach, South Padre Island. Tate was glued to the water. The water was around 60 degrees so he was less than thrilled to stick his feet in (exhibit A) but after a while he got used to it. He was getting a kick out of sticking his feet in the wet sand. After a while we headed over to an area where you could drive your car on the beach so we parked and listened to the waves. Tate took a 2 hr nap. Tate did not get a bit of sun. We kept the sunscreen and sun-hat on as much as possible. I felt so proud!

Looks like you guys had fun! Good job on the sunscreen - a burned baby is no good!

I'm so glad to hear that Tate was a good traveler. He looks so cute! I love the picture of you with him...the ocean is so beautiful it almost looks fake!
