To commenorate the passing of one year, we had a birthday party on Sunday, June 27th at our home and had over 70 people showed up to honor him. We are so blessed with so many great friends and family who truly care for him. We had plenty of food and one of mommy's closest friend's Audrey made the cupcakes and Tate's little cake (pic below). Tate wasn't too into the cake just kind of poked at it a bit but I'm sure he was just a little overwhelmed with all the people.
After cake time, we opened presents with more than 10 kiddos huddled around helping. No meltdowns the whole time so that was great. We started to see Tate's independence coming out as he wanted to play with all the kids. It was such a special day. Mommy had some words to say but couldn't get them out because she was a little choked up. What she wanted to say was thank you all for helping us get through this first year of parenthood. The party was for Tate but also served as a chance to recognize you for being such a strong support this past year and for many more to come. We love you. We know what an impact each of you have on his life and will continue to have and we know how important that is for Tate to be a strong, confident young man. So weird to say man ;). God has placed each of you in his life for a reason and we want to share as much of the experience of raising Tate with you as possible, hence the blog.
